Gee thanks mom

While bonding with my mother over Swedish meatballs at Ikea today, the topic of my total FML yesterday night came up and my mother called me easy. Ummm... Ouch? Gee thanks, mom. Nice to know you think of me that way.
"You only met him in august and you're already all over him!" she said. (oh man, that sounds so vulgar, but I don't know how else to translate the Chinese).
When I asked her how long I should know a guy before it's acceptable to be "all over him", my mother replied with a furious,
"2 years!"
"Wow mom, really? that's a little extreme."
"Okay fine, maybe 2 years is a little long. At least a year."
"so wait, how about Leslie?" I asked her, "she dated when she went to England for a month and a half."
"Leslie's easy too!"

So seems that in the eyes of my mother, two of her daughters are easy.
Nice to know.

Edit: So apparently my mom called Angie easy once too. Looks like my mother raised a whole family of easy daughters. Sweet.

Dr. Seuss

"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind,
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat, I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!"

Loving friends

I adore my friends.
They are honestly some of the nicest, most open, fun and friendly people I have ever known. One of things I love about my group of friends is that we accept anyone and make them feel welcomed. We're not like those little groups who are totally exclusive. Basically anyone can come and join our party.

So today my friend Gary had a Christmas party for us all at his house, and it was amazing. It really felt like we were all one big family, all 20+ of us squished against each other around Gary's tiny kitchen table. (P.S. Gary, your speech really was epic. Very, very cute.) The evening made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. There's something about my friends that radiates togetherness. I know it sounds cheesey, but it's there. I can feel it. Especially during the times when we're all sitting down together, laughing and just soaking in each other's presence.

Shazia said it exactly right on Halloween when she said to me, "wow, your friends are so much fun. They're pretty amazing."
I know Shazia. I am so lucky.

Fruitiest Best Friends of Life.

I have the fruitiest/lamest/most idiotic best friends of life.

------------------------------------

Erica goes downstairs to get the Wii.

5 minutes later...

Erica: *Heard from within the depths of the basement* "STEFFIEEEE!!! WAAAAAHHHH!!! AAAAHHHHH!!! STEFFIEEEE!"
Stefanie proceeds to the basement
Stef: "What's wrong?"
Spots Erica, lying down and curled up in fetal position on top of the mini trampoline.
"What the... What are you doing??"
"I'm confuseeddd! Waaaahhhaaahaaa! T___T" *rocks back and forth*
Steff: "About what?"
Erica: "The Wii! T_____T!"
Steff: "... -_______-'' Dude, you just pull out all the plugs."

3 minutes later upstairs...

Dorene: *sprawled out on couch and scratching thigh* "Steeeeffff!! Do you have something I can use to scratch myself with? IIITTCCCHHHYYYY!! WAAAHHHHAAAHHAAAAA! T___T Give me a spoon or a fork!"
Erica: Uaaawwwggghhh *crashes down on the next couch and looks like she died*

-----------------------------------

I rest my case.
